Obituary

Ava Bernadine Hensley, 104 1/2, of Biggers passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at St. Bernard's Five Rivers Medical Center.

Bernadine was born February 7, 1915 at Old Reyno to the late Harry and Eunice Morrow Hensley. She was a cook for Biggers-Reyno High School where she was famous for her chili mac and wacky cake. She too was a proud member of the Biggers Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Marion Blackburn, Betty Sue Baker, Herbert Hensley, and Dorathy Mae Hensley; two brothers in law; and a nephew Jim Baker.

She is survived by her niece, Ava (Harold) Wood; nephews, Houston (Verone) Blackburn, Joe (Deva) Blackburn, Douglas Baker, Donald (Patty) Hensley, Ronald (Doris) Hensley, Dwayne (Brenda) Hensley, Jim's wife Doris Eoff; and many more great, great great, and great great great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home from 5 PM-7 PM. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 10 AM in the McNabb Funeral Home chapel with Jared Baker and Charles Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers include: Brandon Russell, Keith Russell, Scotty Blackburn, Butch Blackburn, Donald Hensley, Ronald Hensley, and Dewayne Hensley.

Honorary Pallbearers include: Douglas Baker, Harold Wood, Houston Blackburn, and Joe Blackburn.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
