Mrs. Audie Mae Forbis, of Harrisburg, departed this life at home, Saturday, December 24, 2016, at the age of 88.
She was born May 17, 1928, in Damascus to the late Sherman Spivey and Lusettie Burroughs Spivey.
Audie enjoyed fishing, working in her flower garden, quilting, going to yard sales and an animal lover. Throughout her years took care of several foster children. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50+ Years, Frank Forbis, two sisters, Odell Poole and Sharon Kay Minton; a brother, Troy Spivey.
She is survived by a son, Garry Forbis and his wife Linda of Jonesboro; two daughters, Shirleen Hedge of Harrisburg and Rita Banks and husband Jerry of Bay; three sisters, Carolyn Davis and Ozelle Henthrone both of Little Rock and Gerita Kennedy of Quitman; six grandchildren, Dennis Hedge and Jimmy Hedge both of Harrisburg, Frankie Hedge of Jonesboro, Dana King and her husband Andrew of Harrison, Heather Banks of Bay and Ashley Hager and husband Jesse of Jonesboro; six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the Gregg-weston Funeral Home Chapel with Frankie Hardwick officiating. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday, 10:00 till service time. Pallbearers will be Dennis Hedge, Jimmy Hedge, Frankie Hedge, Alex Hedge, Kyle Hedge and Andrew King. Jesse Hager, Seth Gilbert, Jerry Hedge, Jerry Banks, Joel Phillips will serve as honorary pallbearers.
