Mr. Arthur Alin Tacker of Harrisburg departed this life Thursday morning, March 22, 2018, at his home, at the age of 67.
He was born September 28, 1950 in Harrisburg, the son of the late Alin Tacker and Lena Evans Tacker.
Arthur married Paulette Britton on February 6, 1971 and they enjoyed 47 years together. He was a sales manager for Gulf Life for over 14 years and then worked at Quebecor where he retired in early 2000. He loved his wife and family and enjoyed camping and grilling out. He loved music, especially playing his guitar and banjo. Some of his favorite times was spent playing music with his friends, Henry Clampit, Buddy Secrease, Paul Holder, Tony Lewis, Sr. , Tony Lewis, Jr., Terry Richardson, Gary Adams, and Larry Mills. And with a special aunt, Jewell Algood, a special cousin, Betty Burch and cousins Albert \u0026 Kelly Foust and their wives. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog Sissy. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg and died on the day that he and his wife Paulette met in 1969.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Paulette Fatheree and a brother, Little Lee. He is survived by his wife Paulette Tacker of the home, two daughters, Tonya Tacker and Janae Woods (James), both of Harrisburg, one sister, Dorothy Wright of North Carolina, five grandchildren, Autumn Scercy, Kimberly Adams, Dakota Woods, Destini Woods and Donnie Woods, and four great grandchildren, Remington Scercy, Aria Scercy, Hunter Woods and River Woods.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Gregg-Weston Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg. Interment will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday evening, 5:00-8:00 p.m.
