Jonesboro-Arthur F. "Pilk" Eldridge, 87, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born May 13, 1926 in Wilson to the late Miles Scotty and Sadie Alice Eldridge. Mr. Eldridge served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was a retired farmer who loved to fish, shoot pool and garden. He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Mary Irene and Clifford Coots and Debra and Keith Taylor all of Jonesboro; a sister, Thelma Sales; five grandchildren, Ronnie Coots, Lonnie Coots, Jeff Glidewell, Brad Taylor and Samantha Taylor; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Adah Greer Eldridge; two daughters, Joyce Faye Glidewell and Linda Diane Eldridge; a grandson, James Arthur Glidewell; two brothers and a sister. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be 10:00 am, Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Unity Cemetery with Pastor Andy Neal officiating under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.
