Pocahontas - Arthur Leon Alphin, 69 passed away on December 30, 2018 home surrounded by loved ones.

Leon was born on July 27, 1949 in Pocahontas, AR to Joe and Pauline Taylor Alphin. Leon and his late wife Sue were married for 45 years. He served his country in the Army, was a Vietnam Veteran and loved Nascar and dirt track racing. He liked Razorback sports and was a Cardinal Baseball fan. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Alphin; his parents; sister, Wanda Blackwell, Geneva Alphin; and brother, William Alphin.

He is survived by children, Chad Alphin, Heath Alphin, Robin Myers, Kelly (David) Smith, Todd Jackson all of Pocahontas; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; special granddaughter, Raleigh Alphin; brothers, Gerry (Sharon) Alphin, Darrell Alphin both of Attica, Randy (Donna) Alphin of Pocahontas; sisters, Betty Getson, Diane (Randy) Anis both of Pocahontas; along with many nieces and nephews.

Both services will be at McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 10:00 am with Jeremy Bundren and Larry Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Cody Alphin, Travis Alphin, David Alphin, Dustin Alphin, Tyler Brooks and Larry Higginbotham.

Honorary pallbearers include Randy Getson, Leroy Blackwell, Mike Blackwell, Brandon Sullinger, Roger Guthrie, Mike (Buster) Dover, Randy Joe and Barkley Anis.
