Farmington, MO -Art Dougherty, Jr., 88, formerly of Monette, departed this life Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in St. Louis. He was born November 13, 1924 in Arkansas, the son of Arthur Dougherty, Sr. and Bertha Keith Dougherty. Art worked at several jobs during the past including a short time for AR-MO Power Company, the Davy Tree Service, Hussmann Refrigeration in St. Louis and the St. Louis Ammunition Plant. He was a WW II Veteran, having served in the U.S Navy in the Philippines. He loved to fish and hunt and was known as a jack of all trades. He could do anything! In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Ray, Bill, David and Charles. He is survived by one son, Victor Dougherty of Boise, ID; two sisters, Paralee McFarlin of Monette and Bernice Tompkins of Senath, MO; one brother, Jessie Lavern Dougherty of Catawissa, MO. Graveside funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Macey Cemetery near Monette with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Gregg Funeral Home of Monette is in charge of arrangements. Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. till noon.
