Pocahontas - Armand Lee "A.J." Jurs Sr., 79, passed away on November 4, 2019 at home, surrounded by loved ones.

Armand was born on September 6, 1940 in Elgin, IL to Albert and Geraldine Witt Jurs. He served his country in the US Marines.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Witt; wife, Bernadette Jurs; and grandson, Sebastian Jurs.

He is survived by his children, Ann (John) Varas, Armand Jurs Jr, Dawn (Arthur) Cocherell and Norman (Sarah) Jurs all of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Arthur (Rebecca) Cocherell, Nick Varas both of Pocahontas, Brittney Cocherell of Arizona, Nichole (Coby) Poe, Armand (Gwendolyn) Jurs, Scott Jurs, Allen Jurs, Jordan Jurs, Memphis Jurs, and Decklin Jurs all of Pocahontas; brother, Al (Kathy) Jurs of Illinois; several great grandchildren; along with other family and friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 11 am - 12 pm at McNabb Funeral Home Chapel with a funeral immediately following at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Chesser Cemetery.

Pallbearers: John Varas, Allen Jurs, Armand Jurs, Scott Jurs, Coby Poe and Arthur Troy Cocherell.

Honorary pallbearers: Makayla Varas, Drezden Varas, Brayden Poe and Kainen Varas.
