Anthony "Leroy" Blackwell, 55 of Pocahontas passed away Friday, August 21,2020 at his home.

He was born February 22, 1965 in Pocahontas to the late Billy Gene Blackwell and Wanda Alphin Blackwell.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sheryl Lynn Blackwell; sister, Patty Blackwell Virgin; and grandparents, Andrew and Grace Blackwell and Joe and Pauline Alphin.

He is survived by one daughter of the home, Jennifer (Alex) Poindexter; one son, Erick (Kaylee) Nelson of Jonesboro; two brothers, Mike (Paula) Blackwell of New Haven, Missouri and Tim Blackwell of Pocahontas; 8 grandchildren, Cole, Kainen, Audrina, Addy, Ayden, Gabe, Peyton, and Tucker; Special friends, Joshua, Jessye, Maelee, \u0026 Rosston Tippitt, JD Morris, and Michael Davis; along with several
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Leroy was a lifelong resident of Pocahontas and a member of The Shannon Baptist Church. He was always outdoors, hunting, fishing, or out looking for arrowheads. He was a loving father, and thought the world of his grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Tippitt, Cody Alphin, Travis Alphin, David Alphin, Jim Murray, and Lynn Peoples.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Randall Getson, Heath Alphin, Chad Alphin, Dustin Alphin, and Larry Higginbotham.

Visitation will be at McNabb Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 1-2 P.M. in the chapel, with a funeral service at 2. Burial to follow at Lawrence Memorial Park in Walnut Ridge.

To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
