Vera Lewis, 91, of Dalton, AR, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born Anna Veralee Johnson on April 11, 1935, in Clay County, AR, she was the daughter of Homer Johnson and Christeen Allen Johnson. She was married to Larry Lewis on August 20, 1987.

Vera was known within her family for being a wonderful cook. She was also a skilled seamstress, an avid reader, and she enjoyed RV travel. She was especially fond of spending time in Arizona.

She is survived by her husband, Larry, of Dalton, AR; her children, James Lee of Doniphan, MO, Scott Lee of St. Peter, MN, and Janine (Mark) Zerger of Paducah, KY; one stepdaughter, Sandra Lewis of Davenport, IA; four grandchildren, Anthony (Angela) Lee of Doniphan, MO, Keiarra Lee of Fort Pierce, FL, Megan Zerger and Jacob Zerger of Murray, KY; three great grandchildren; two nieces; and several cousins, including a special cousin, Peggy Allen Cummings of Corning, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Larry Lee; one sister, Glenna Johnson Lentz; and one brother, William “Billy” Johnson.

Honoring Vera’s wishes, cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition, and no services will be held.
