Obituary

Mayflower- Dr. Amanda Copeland, 88, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, August 9, 2017.

She was born August 13, 1928 in Craighead County, Arkansas to the late Walker and Elsie Baldridge. She earned her Doctorate in education and went on to teach at Nettleton High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas from 1960 to 1970. Dr. Copeland served as a business professor at Arkansas State University following her teaching career at Nettleton High School. Then she became the Kiamichi Technology Center Director in Stigler, Oklahoma from 1989 to 1995. She was also a marriage and psychology counselor and a Red Cross member. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ravaina Lynn Copeland and Nancy Mae Baldree; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, C.S. Copeland Jr.; son, C.W. Copeland; as well as two brothers, Devane Baldridge and Raymond Baldridge.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 4:00 pm Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 4:30 pm Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Macey Cemetery near Monette with Bro. Alan Ashlock officiating.
