Alza Girtrue Kirk Hill was born November 17, 1906 in Randolph County near Eleven Points to J. R. And Birdie Kirk. She was the oldest daughter of nine children. She is preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, Alva Gearhart and Louise Luter, five brothers, Theodore, Thaniel, Thadis, Troy and Louie Kirk, three grandsons, Infant Hale, Denny Hill and Zachary Hill, two sons, James Hill and Johnny Hill. Also preceding her is her husband, Jess Alexander Hill, whom she missed very much since his passing on October 28, 1996. Jess and Alza were married on February 17, 1929 by Rev. G. W. Million in Old Reyno at Mr. and Mrs. George Crawford's home. Relatives and friends attended. They were very successful in farming. They met life's challenges each day believing they could make a difference in their life and lives of their family. To this union three sons, James, Galleried and Johnny, one daughter, Pansy, were born. Alza spent her life as homemaker, working hard, loving, sharing and caring for her family. Alza accepted Christ Jesus as her Lord and Savior at age eighteen during a revival at Old Reyno. She was baptized in Current River at Biggers, Arkansas. She is now a member of Biggers Baptist Church, Biggers, Arkansas. Alza passed away in Randolph Home at 1:00 PM March 24, 2008 at the age of 101. She is survived by one son, Gaylord and wife, Sylvia, Hill of Forrest City, Arkansas, one daughter Pansy, and husband, Johnny Williams of Biggers, Arkansas, a daughter-in-law, Jo Hill of Marksville, LA and ex-daughter-in-law, Pat Hill of Pineville, LA, nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildlren, one sister, Alma Hawkins of Jonesboro, Arkansas, two sisters-in-law, Raye Kirk of Biggers, Arkansas and Marie Kirk of Festus, Missouri, also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Services will be held at 10am Thursday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Bro. Loy Culver and Bro. Tommy Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
