Obituary
Monette- Alma Laverne Pyland, 87, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Maple Wood Manor in Clio, Michigan.
She was born March 12, 1932 in Monette to the late Dee and Bessie Thurman Gleghorn. She spent her life as a homemaker raising five children. She loved to read and spend time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Monette First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her five children, Shirley Compton, David Pyland (Deb), Lenny Pyland (Kandi), Beth Richard (Les) and Nancy Pyland; six grandchildren; Eric, Lucky, Brent, Amber, Nicole and Sarah; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; longtime friend, just like a daughter, TeriLee Fritcher and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Winford; a sister, Fay and a son-in-law, Gary Compton.
A graveside service will be at noon, Friday, January 17, 2020 at Monette Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
