Mrs. Alma Annette Davis of Bay, departed this life Saturday, August 26, 2017, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, at the age of 91.
She was born December 17, 1925 in Macey, AR, the daughter of W.R. Holland and Annie Maxwell Holland.
Mrs. Davis lived her early life in the Monette and Childress area and during her senior year of High School moved to Bay. She loved to paint, cook and sew, and made prom and pageant dresses. She was known for her cooking and loved baking wedding cakes. She was a member of the Bay United Methodist Church. She married Howard Davis in June of 1943 and they were married for 58 years before his death in 2001.
She is survived today by two daughters, Caren Gammill (Joe), and Debbie Patton, both of Jonesboro, one son, William Davis (Gail) of Bay, one sister, Jane Travis, of Everton, MO, five grandchildren, Michelle Bacot (Mike), Renee' Harmon (David), Darin Davis (Amy), Robin Jones, and Bridgette Work (Michael), seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, W.R. and Annie Holland and her husband Howard Davis, she was preceded in death one sister, Emma Lea Holland Baskin.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 30th, at the Gregg Langford-Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Lewert and Rev. Dianne Wimberly officiating. Interment will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Brandy Scott, Brett Scott, Tommy Cottingham, Frank Nichols, Kenny Scott and Donnie Scott. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stan Gulley, Lynn Scott, Claudia Lamberson, Beth Scott, Shannon Davis, Gerald Martin and Bobby Martin. Those wishing to send memorials are asked to consider the Bay United Methodist Church.
