Jonesboro- Allen Darrell Coleman, 73, departed this life on July 21, 2014, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born June 3, 1941, in Craighead County, the eleventh child of Watson Monroe Coleman and Mary Lucretia Meeker Coleman. Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers Alvie Monroe Coleman (Dorothy), Ernest Euen Coleman (Joy), Kenneth Leon Coleman, and infant Sammy Eugene Coleman; sisters, Thelma R. Garrison (Charles), Betty Lou Overman (Glenn), and infant girl Mary Jean. He is survived by daughter Tracy Coleman and son-in-law Pat Hayward of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters, Flora Edith Henderson (Don) of Saginaw, Texas, and Nola June Houston (Arnold) of Jonesboro; brothers, Donald Lee Coleman, Carl Everett Coleman (Javene), Gary Dale Coleman (Carolyn), all of Jonesboro; and many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Darrell served in the U. S. Army in the 1960s. Living in Rockford, IL, and Brownsville, TX, he owned Mister Donut franchises. After returning to Jonesboro in 1983, he owned First National Donut in Paragould. Most recently he was employed by and retired from FedEx in Jonesboro. Memorial services celebrating Darrell\u0027s life and legacy will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 West Matthews Ave., Jonesboro.
