Caraway- Mrs. Alice Novella Walker, 100, passed from this life on October 5, 2025 at the Monette Manor nursing home. Mrs. Walker was born the daughter of Lidge and Martha Stevens McGinnis on April 5, 1925 in Sylamore. She married James Andrew Walker at the age of 18 and they made their home in Caraway. She worked for many years at the Caraway Elementary School before being employed at Basler Electric where she worked until she retired. She was an avid quilter and gardener. She was very active in her community and was known for providing meals and cooking for people. Her greatest joy came from her church, family and helping others. She especially loved those who cared for her at Monette Manor.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Mr. James Andrew Walker, one son, Dewayne Walker, one daughter, Carol Roberson, by five sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by one son, Charles (Bonnie) Walker of Greers Ferry, one daughter, Betty Nelson of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren, Bruce (Terry) Roberson of Caraway, David (Kathy) Roberson of Caraway, Melody (Mike) Holt of Caraway, Nancy (Morris) Texter of Paragould. Christy (Trent) Lamb of Jonesboro, J.D (Sheri) Walker of Jonesboro, and Shea Tyler Walker of Rogers. She also has fourteen great grandchildren, fourteen great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.

Services will be under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home at the First Baptist Church in Caraway on Wednesday October 8, 2025 with visitation from 12-1 pm, and a funeral service to follow with Rick Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Caraway Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
