Jonesboro Alice Taylor Houston, 81, died Tuesday, February 14, 2008 at her residence. Mrs. Houston was born February 19, 1926 in Jonesboro to the late Lumna and Grace Crisp. She was the first woman public official in Craighead County; following her husband, Searcy Taylor, as Circuit Court Clerk, beginning July 15, 1967, after serving as Chief Deputy Clerk a number of years.
