Obituary

Jonesboro- Alfred Wayne Blake, 73, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015. He was born October 8, 1942 in Jonesboro to the late Alfred and Ester Ovine Schnider Blake. He was with the Arkansas State College Foundation for forty years and a member and an elder at the Southwest Church of Christ. He was survived by his wife, Pat Blake; his children and their spouses, Sonya and Michael Miller, Jeffery and Christie Mink, Mary and Robert Keller all of Jonesboro and Stephanie and Don Rose of Land o Lakes, Florida; nine grandchildren, Heath Miller (Marcie), Cody Miller (Stephanie), Xavier Armistead, Sierra Gossett, Lily Gossett, Kaitlyn Bradley (Spencer), Abbey Mink all of Jonesboro, Janie Rose and Alyssa Rose of Land O Lakes; a brother, Johnny Dale Blake of Jonesboro; close friends, Patricia Dugger and Maxine Pruitt both of Jonesboro. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Rogers. A celebration of his life will be 2:00 pm Friday, November 20, 2015 at Southwest Church of Christ with Jimmy Adcock officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 pm Friday at the church. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joe Ferguson, Larrell Austin, Jerry Cook, Eddie Rose, Paul Allen Rogers and Chris Pfeifer and honorary pallbearers are his Sunday Night Life Groups and Kay's Foundation Board members. Lasting memorials may be sent to the Southwest Church of Christ Food Pantry.
