Obituary

Albert Martin Frankenberger, 77, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 25, 1948, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, Albert was the second oldest of eight children born to Eugene and Pauline Frankenberger.

A proud graduate of St. Paul's Catholic High School in Pocahontas (Class of 1966), Albert went on to earn his degree in Architecture from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1971. That same year, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He distinguished himself at the Military Police Training Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia, graduating from "A" Company, 12th Battalion, 4th AIT Brigade with top honors—earning two plaques for highest academic average and outstanding graduate among 196 soldiers.

Albert served with honor at Fort Monroe, Headquarters of the Continental Army, where he performed military police and honor guard duties.

In 1969, Albert married the love of his life, Nancy Patterson. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and service. In 1989, Albert founded his own architectural firm in Jonesboro, where he worked for 27 years. His designs shaped the city, and his integrity and vision earned him deep respect in the community. He was also a long-time member of the University Heights Lions Club.

Albert was a devoted father to Britt Frankenberger (wife Jessica) and Laura Shepherd (husband Chris), and a proud grandfather to Liam and Scarlett Shepherd. He was a loving brother to his seven surviving brothers and sisters.  He cherished time spent with his family, especially traveling to the Caribbean, collecting coins, and sharing stories and laughter with his grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Jonesboro, where he was a member, followed by a Funeral Mass. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Cemetery in Pocahontas, Arkansas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Liam Shepherd, Chris Shepherd, Joey Jones Jr, Joesph Jansen, Paul Dawson, Steven Pendley and Jondavide Hopkins.
