Jonesboro- Adron Mansell Hammett, 86, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013. He was born on May 28, 1926 in Baldwyn, Mississippi to the late Willie and Ivy Hammett. He worked at Singer's Manufactory for 32 years. Mr. Hammett was a member of Strawfloor Baptist Church and was a deacon at Bay First Baptist Church of sixty years. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Ruth Hammett; his children, Marcia Hammett of Paragould, Jacin Hammett and wife Pelicia of Jonesboro and Lowel Hammett and wife Hillery of Shawano, WI; a brother and his wife, Harold and Hattie Hammett of Bay; two sisters, Veonia Wyse of Piggott and Max Ann McGee of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Tia Adams, Jacin Hammett II, Zachery Hammett, Dustin Raasch and Toby Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Marcus Smith, Tanner Smith, Kadence Raasch, Korbyn Raasch, Kaithlyn Adams, Michala McPhink, William McPhink and Maci Adams; a great-great-granddaughter, Hayden Smith; numerous other family and friends. He was also preceded in death by a son, Russell Van Hammett; two brothers, Thomas Hammett and Morton Hammett. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Russell and Rev. Don Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 pm, Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home, 300 W. Matthews Ave. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Lee Roy Lambie, David Sandborn, Jacin Hammett II, Leland Worlow, Chad Adams and Lanny Scott.
